Title:	Buffalo
Description:	To create the body of my buffalo I used two slabs of clay on a slump mold, and then combined the two halfs. I made the head with two pinch pots, then altered them to define the nostrils, eyes, and ears on it. After that, I made the horns using slabs. I used the extruder to create hollow tubes for legs and attached them to the body, and attached the head and tail from a coil. After the first bisque firing, I put black underglaze and then clear glaze on the hooves and fired it again. I put latex on the front half of the horns of my buffalo, in order to lighten that area in color for the smoke fire. I finally smoke fired my piece, and when it cooled set it on a piece of drift wood for a base.

Atmosphere:	Reduction, Final firing surface was reduction atmosphere. Burning newspaper in a trash can to smoke fire and create a mottled black to light colored matt surface on the body of this piece.
