| Title: | Walter |
| Description: | This piece is a head and shoulder bust of my dog Walter. I chose to create Walter because of the interesting shapes and patterns of his fur. Walter is a whippet and the shape of his head and neck is unique because this breed is thin and drawn-out. While creating the sculpture I learned new techniques like dry brushing and different ways of incorporating texture. Another method that I learned was how to add and subtract clay to complete the shape of Walter's head. This piece was challenging in many ways and if there was anything that I could change about it, I would sharpen the areas around the eyes to make them more defined. I enjoyed creating this piece and learning new techniques that I can use in pieces that I make in the future. |
